A local court on Friday granted bail to Shahriyar Sindhu, son of MPA Tahir Sindhu, accused of thrashing a police constable.
Shahriyar (22) was arrested and taken to North Cantt Police Station on Thursday after he thrashed a police constable who had stopped his car for checking at a picket in the Fortress Stadium area. A case was registered against him for assaulting a policeman.
On Friday, the police produced him before Judicial Magistrate Ikram Azad who granted him bail on a surety bond of Rs 20,000.
