At least two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed on Friday, in a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Bara tehsil of the Khyber tribal region.
FC officials confirmed the incident and said a patrolling party was hit by a roadside IED in Akakhel area.
Nobody claimed responsibility for the incident but militants have previously carried out several attacks in the area.
The Taliban and al Qaeda-linked groups are known to have strongholds in the zone.
Security officers cordoned off the area and started investigations.
