Abducted man recovered, kidnappers arrested

Koral Police and Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Friday arrested four kidnappers allegedly involved in abducting a person at gun point near Khana Pul area.

The police spokesman said that Abdul Ghaffar, Abu Sufian, Syed Waqas and Imran Mehmood, residents of Lahore, kidnapped Muhammad Nawaz from Khana Pul area at gun point who was driving in his car along with his cousin. The kidnappers left the cousin behind and fled off in the car with the victim. The cousin immediately informed the police and the whole area was cordoned off.

Station House officer (SHO) Inspector Rana Mubarik, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali and officials of Islamabad Traffic police including Head Constable Muhammad Iftikhar, constables Rehmat Ali and Muhammad Waris started rigorous checking in the area.

Policemen intercepted the car at Koral Chowk and arrested the kidnappers besides recovering the abducted person. Two 30 bore pistols and 30 bullets were also recovered from their possession and further investigation is.

 

169 VEHICLES IMPOUNDED, 45 ARRESTED: Police on Friday impounded 13 vehicles and 156 motorcycles in different police stations while tinted papers from 34 vehicles were removed.

According to details, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Yaseen Farooq directed all zonal officers, SDPOs and SHOs to remain vigilant against mischievous elements and to enhance security as well as patrolling in various areas.

Different police stations conducted general holdup and impounded a total of 13 vehicles and 156 motorbikes being driven without proper documents. Forty five suspects were also arrested from various areas following a search operation. Police teams also recovered two unregistered pistols along with 30 bullets, fake currency amounting to Rs 1,450,000 and stolen goods worth Rs 70,000 from those arrested.

The aim of the general holdup is to maintain law and order and to curb criminal activities. The SSP appreciated the performance of police officials and has instructed them to further enhance vigilance and security in their respective areas.
