While the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government is claiming of adopting austerity in government departments, a scion of the Sharif family, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s son Hamza Shahbaz has drawn the ire of citizens and the media by making an expensive visit to a Ramadan Sasta Bazaar in Sheikhupura.
According to TV reports, the Punjab CM has banned all types of protocol but his own son first travelled to Sheikhupura, hardly 30 kilometres from Lahore, on an official helicopter and then visited a Ramadan Bazaar in the city in an over 20-vehicle entourage. The entire police force of the district had been deployed for Hamza’s security in addition to his security personnel who had driven there from Lahore.
