There has been rising concern among teachers over the change in transfer policy for the second time by the Punjab Education Department.
According to the teachers, the shifts in the transfer policy have created problems for them as there are fears that majority of them might be deprived of the opportunity to be transferred to schools near their hometowns. They said that female teachers are suffering the most due to the change.
They also complained of filling of a long performa and submission of attested copies of relevant documents being made compulsory, despite fulfilling all relevant requirements under the revised transfer policy. They said that the new policy imposes 15 conditions on teachers for transfers. They demanded the government to carry out transfers on merit and cancel the new transfer policy.
