The Punjab government has decided to construct nine mini dams in Rawalpindi Division (Pothohar) in order to fulfill the current water needs for agricultural and other purposes.
The government has allocated Rs 9.74 billion for the project and the mini dams will be constructed in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal.
Moreover, the government also allocated Rs 250 million for different projects to facilitate the citizens during months of drought, while Rs 7.50 billion have been reserved for providing the farmers with tube-wells running on solar-energy and biogas.
