On the advice of prime minister, the president has accorded his approval to the amendments in Shariah Nizam-e-Adl Regulation 2009 along with draft Shariah Nizam-e-Adl (Amendment) Regulation 2013 in terms of Article 247(4) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The amendment in Shariah Nizam-e-Adl Regulation 2009 aims at streamlining and expediting the submission of complete challans by the police to the court.

The amendment binds the police to submit complete challan through the public prosecutor within 14 days. If the police fail to do so and the magistrate does not grant any special extension in the 14 days limit, disciplinary proceedings would be initiated against the police officer.
