Pakistan has sought explanation on Mumbai attacks from India: Pervaiz Rashid

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said Pakistan has sought explanation from the Indian government on an Indian officer’s statement with regards to the Mumbai attacks and attack on parliament.

“We will give our stance as soon as the explanation from the Indian government is received,” Rashid said this in his exclusive talks with Online on Thursday.

To a question on the Senate Standing Committee on Defence’s demand for making the Abbottabad Commission report public, Rashid said the senate body was a strong committee and Mushahid Hussain Syed was a patriotic Pakistani.

“The committee plea will be considered seriously by us,” he added.

Regarding Imran Khan’s statement on all parties conference, the information minister said every political party had its own opinion. “We respect his opinion,” he added.

Appointment of the NAB chairman was the mandate of the prime minister and the opposition leader in the National Assembly and both were in contact with each other. “No delay has been caused from any side,” he said, adding, “Rana Bhagwandas’ name is still there for appointment of NAB chairman but some legal complications are involved therein.”

He said the opposition leader was making consultations with his lawyers in this respect.

To another question on the statement coming from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, Rashid said “such things show immaturity. It does suit a politician to talk this way”.
