The newly-appointed Lahore Transport Company (LTC) Chairman, Khawaja Ahmad Hassan, has called the LTC a model of modernized transport culture which will be soon replicated in other cities in the country.
While addressing the LTC’s 40th Board of Directors meeting at the Chief Minister Secretariat, Hassan said that LTC has played a significant role by imparting modern, efficient and affordable transport facilities to the general public. Metro Bus Service is also a successful example of a flagship project which is providing state of the art bus service of international standards on a daily basis, and thousands of commuters are benefiting from this impeccable transport service, he said.
Hassan said that it is the vision of the leadership to provide relief for the lower segments of society in order to improve their quality of life. He said that he is grateful to the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for showing confidence n his abilities and particularly for his services in the transport sector.
He reiterated that the people have given the government a mandate for a larger cause, and every step would be taken to ensure results in public service delivery.
Hassan also said that a subcommittee has been constituted which will review various suggestions on making small public transport safer and more affordable for the general public. Shaukat Ali and Mehr Ishtiaq also spoke on the occasion.
