Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources has declared 27 bottled water brands unsafe for consumption due to chemical and microbiological contamination.

Among these‚ 12 have comparatively high level of arsenic ranging from 12-44 ppb than the standard amount.

The excessive level of arsenic causes various types of skin diseases including diabetes‚ hypertension‚ heart diseases‚ renal failures‚ black foot disease‚ birth defects and multiple types of cancer.

The remaining brands were found unsafe due to the presence of higher levels of sodium‚ potassium and fluoride.

  1. where is the name of 27 brands? and 12 that r not gud for use?????????????????????????????????????????????????

  2. I think this yearly testing by Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources is a scam — a shakedown they do every year. I mean what is the point when the companies in question stay in business even if they make this list every year?

Of course I am not saying the test results are wrong– though some could be. All I am saying is the government is not interested in your welfare; it is only interested in lining it's pockets….

P.S. I hope you all know there is nothing special about "mineral" water; it is just tube-well water (I think the law states that if the water is pulled from 300 feet or below, it can be called "mineral" water). Please do correct me if I am wrong…
