Gridlocks at Iftaar time irk motorists

Motorists of the city were facing gridlocks on the roads, especially Benazir Bhutto Road (Murree Road), it was reported on Tuesday, especially at Iftar time as shopkeepers and small vendors set up stalls on roads. The motorists said the crowds of shoppers on stalls of food items set up on the BB Road at wagon stops of Taili Mohallah and Waris Khan caused traffic jams at Iftar time. They said shopkeepers on both sides of underpass between Liaquat Bagh Chowk and Committee Chowk had set up stalls in front of their shops, thus constricting the road. The situation created trouble for motorists, they added. When asked, a shopkeeper said the shoppers parked their vehicles in the middle of the road while shopping which led to the traffic jam on BB Road. He said if the shoppers parked their vehicles sensibly, the problems would be resolved.
