  • Three children’s death incite protest against negligence at Children’s Hospital

 

 

Scores of people blocked Ferozepur Road on Wednesday, in a protest against the alleged negligence of doctors at Children’s Hospital.

According to details, three children belonging to different districts of Punjab who were admitted to Children’s Hospital died allegedly owing to doctors’ negligence. The parents and attendants of the deceased children blamed the doctors for their deaths, and staged a protest demonstration on a Ferozpur Road against the doctors’ negligence.

The children were identified as four-month-old Mustaqeem, six-month-old Ghulam Abbas and a four-day-old baby.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and sought an inquiry report within 24 hours. Both the Punjab Health Minister Khalil Sindhu and the Children’s Hospital administration have announced that they will form committees to probe the deaths.

Meanwhile, police dispersed the protestors, who were raising slogans against the doctors and demanding action by the CM and the chief justice.
