The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government decided to set up the province’s first oil refinery. The first-of-its kind project in the province will have a capacity of refining 40,000 barrels of oil per day. The estimated completion of the 640 million dollar refinery is in June 2016. Reviewing the project here on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak asked authorities concerned to speed up the process. “Our government will use natural resources for the development of province and the prosperity of its people,” Khattak said. The project will be jointly completed by the provincial government and the Pakistan State Oil.
