An Enquiry committee made by the National Assembly speaker has prepared a charge sheet against four officers of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) for alleged mismanagement.
According to sources in National Assembly Secretariat, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had constituted an enquiry committee, headed by joint secretary Latif Qureshi regarding alleged changes in the PAC report.
The committee recorded statements of all PAC officers and checked their meeting data but no clear clues indicating change in the audit data and report were found.
Sources said that a charge sheet mentioning other charges including mismanagement has been prepared and dispatched, against PAC Deputy Secretary Romana Kakar, Salamat Ali, Section Officer Mehwish Hafeez and SO Asif.
‘‘Joint secretary and additional secretary are equally responsible but no charge sheet has been prepared against them,’’ sources further revealed.
During the previous tenure, Ayaz Sadiq was a party to alleged confrontation between Romana Kakar and committee member Yasmeen Rehman who was the head of a subsidiary committee for enquiry.
According to sources, action will be taken against four PAC officers mentioned in the charge sheet after recording their replies in 14 days.
