Police have arrested four terrorists of a banned outfit on Monday and seized large quantity of weapons from Musharraf Colony area of the metropolis.
Mochko Police Station received a tip that some terrorists linked with a banned outfit were reaching the 500-Quarters area of Musharraf Colony for Iftari.
The police responded efficiently and a conducted raid in the area. In the mean time, the terrorists opened fire at police personnel and an encounter ensued.
The police arrested four terrorists of a banned outfit during the raid and large quantity of weapons including four ball bombs, one hand grenade, three pistols, and three rifles were seized from their possession.
Police informed that the arrested culprits were involved in many heinous crimes including, murders, attempt to murder, and money extortion.
Meanwhile, a suspected terrorist was nabbed from a coach that was headed towards Karachi from Peshawar, while also recovering two rocket launcher, explosive material and arms from his possession.
Upon receiving information from intelligence agencies, police launched an operation at Superhighway and stopped all coaches that were coming form Peshawar and apprehended the suspected terrorist, namely Ishaq, in the precincts of Sohrab Goth Police Station.
Police have started thorough interrogation from the nabbed suspect.
In another incident, dead bodies of a couple with slit throats were recovered from a house located in Malir area of Bilawal Ghio Goth here on Monday.
Upon receiving information, police and rescue teams reached the house and recovered the dead bodies from the house.
The deceased man was identified as Majid, who was working with a private TV channel as a cameraman, while the identity of the female could not yet to be ascertained.
Later, Police shifted the dead bodies to Jinnah Hospital for autopsy.
Police claimed that the deceased were killed with a sharp edged instrument.
Meanwhile, an acid thrower, involved in an attack on his aunt the other day, has been arrested in a police raid in Delhi Colony area.
The accused, identified as Kamran, had thrown acid on his aunt, namely Nasreen Bibi, after a domestic quarrel.
The accused was being further interrogated by the police.
The injured were shifted to the hospital. One of the wounded men is in critical condition.
To curb violence in the city, there must be a strict law, that those who found possesing any such arms (as defined in the news as ball bombs, sucide jackets,hand grenade, pistols,rifles ), will be shoot dead without any delay.And focus on to implement this.
