The Pakistan Cricket Board has said that the newly-appointed chief selector of Pakistan cricket team was never convicted or fined for match-fixing and stated that a negative campaign is being hatched to demoralize the steps taken by the PCB.

“The PCB is shocked on reports that claims Moin Khan, was once convicted and fined for match-fixing.

This is completely baseless and false”, said a  Spokesman of the PCB here on Tuesday. “Such irresponsible and false allegations hurt the national interest and cause demoralization”, he added.

He said that Moin Khan had never been convicted for match fixing. This report harms the image of our veteran cricketer and that of the PCB and the country as a whole.

“It is unfortunate that such baseless news has appeared at a time when the new management of the PCB is trying in all sincerity to restore the credibility and performance of cricket in Pakistan”, he asserted.

In his reaction, Moin Khan said he was deeply disappointed by the publication of such a baseless report.

“The news has been fabricated to defame me as a person and as a cricketer, i am utterly distressed and disappointed at this falsehood being peddled as a news item, my whole career reflects my love for the game and my continued effort to promote it even after my retirement. The publication of such false reports will not do any good to the game,” said the chief selector.

  1. Want to rid PCB of corruption, get rid of Daud Ibrahim's relative and his influence. Don't believe me, than get the FBR to launch an audit of his assets.
