After sending a record amount of $14 billion in remittances to the country, the federal government seems to be looking kindly towards the overseas Pakistanis.

One of the various measures taken by the government to benefit the overseas Pakistanis is changing a policy which would now entitle overseas Pakistanis to have pension after returning to the country.

Similarly, their life insurance period has been extended to lifetime rather than the current two-year term.

And the most important measure taken is giving the overseas Pakistanis the right of vote from the next general elections for which a law has already been approved and now just needs approval from the federal cabinet.
