Toll rates for light traffic vehicles on Satra Mile-Lower Topa section of Islamabad Muzaffarabad Dual Carriage Way (IMDCW) Expressway has doubled from Rs25 to Rs50.
The decision has irked residents of twin cities who throng to visit Murree hillstation for beating the heat.
Syed Ali Ameer, a resident of the capital said that he had hired a residence in Murree to spend the holy month of Ramadan with his family due to the unbearable humid weather. “I now have to pay Rs 100 per day which is making a drain in my monthly budget,” he added.
Newly married couple, Ajwa and Sheraz from Rawalpindi said that after work hours they love visiting Murree to escape from the scorching heat. “The increment in toll rates is unjust and not in the favour of the general public,” said Ajwa.
