The Supreme Court on Monday took notice of the escape of two suspected terrorists from city courts.

A three-member bench comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Amir Hani Muslim, resumed proceedings of Karachi law and order suo motu case at Supreme Court’s Karachi registry.

During the hearing, the bench ordered the police officers to submit a report over suspected terrorists’ escape from the court.

On July 13, the two terrorists made a swift escape from the city courts while the CID police was taking them back to the armoured personnel carrier.

The court today also expressed disappointment over the absence of inspector general (IG) of Sindh police, stating that the IG falls sick every time when there is a hearing related to this case
