Fourth victim falls as dengue tightens grip

A woman passed away on Monday after suffering from dengue fever. So far the deadly virus has caused four deaths in the monsoon season alone.

According to medical sources, the victim identified as one Dil Afroz, resident of Orangi Town was under treatment at a private hospital where she breathed her last.

Doctors told reporters that the carrier of the dengue virus bred during the rainy and humid season and the city’s current weather pattern was favouring the mosquitos.

Medical specialists have advised citizens to use pesticidal sprays, mosquito-repellant lotions, in addition to emptying canisters of stagnant water and draining pools to prevent the outbreak of an epidemic.
