After the discovery of dengue larvae in two union councils and reports published in the media about expected outbreak of the epidemic in provincial capital, the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) authorities decided to launch an anti-dengue drive in the city. Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Naseem Sadiq stated on Saturday that CDGL would carry on its anti-dengue drive in all nine towns of the city and the surveillance of dengue larvae was being conducted in sensitive union councils. He made the announcement in this regard while chairing a meeting at the EDO Health’s office. The meeting was attended by the executive district officer Health, district officer Health, deputy district officers Health and officers from the education department. Naseem Sadiq ordered the officials concerned to get FIRs registered against the owners of properties where dengue larvae were detected. He also directed that awareness pamphlets be distributed and fumigation conducted in the high risk union councils.
