Punjab Minister for Education and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan launched the Punjab Adolescent Strategy & Strategic Plan 2013-17 on Saturday. This comprehensive strategy has been developed under the umbrella of Punjab Youth Policy 2012. Addressing participants of the launching ceremony, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that adolescents between nine and nineteen years are a significant part of Pakistan’s population. Of the estimated Pakistani population of 185 million, adolescents make up 26 percent of the total population. Keeping this in view, the government has focused various age groups of adolescents to provide them a therapeutic milieu, the minister said. He added that adolescents go through transition period between childhood and adulthood.
