Complying with the Supreme Court (SC) orders, the Sindh government has relegated 59 out-of-turn promoted police officers.
According to sources, the notification in this regard was issued on Saturday. However, 12 officers including SSP Chaudhry Aslam, Niyaz Khoso, Farooq Awan, Fayyaz Khan, Mazhar Mashwani, Raja Umer Khattab and others will continue to work on their current ranks.
According to the Sindh government notification, SP Malir Rao Anwar Ahmed Khan has been demoted to DSP rank. SPs Khurram Waris, Munir Phulpoto and Waqar Malhan have been relegated from grade 18 to 16 as inspectors.
Aftab Ahmed Halepoto, Muhammad Akram Abro, Staff Officer IG Sindh, Irshad Sehar, Latif Ahmed Siddiqui, Syed Muhammad Ali Raza, Syed Imadad Ali Shah and other 22 police officers have been demoted to DSP in grade 17.
