Chhotu Mazari gang has put up several demands before the government on Saturday for the release of abducted policemen.
The gang had demanded from the authorities to end operation against them and leave the riverside area immediately. They also demanded release of its three members including the gang leader’s nephew from jail.
Releasing of women and children from the police custody and removal of pickets from the Kacha Jamal area was also one of the demands of the group.
On Saturday, the bandits had captured three river islands near Kachi Jamal area and took nine policemen hostage. However, one of them succumbed to injuries.
The gang of kidnappers led by Ghulam Rasool alias Chhotu escaped from the area as 700 policemen from five districts failed to recover their colleagues from the captivity of dacoits.
