The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has denied that Tauqir Sadiq named any individual for having assisted him escape from Pakistan.
The NAB spokesman said in a statement on Friday that the inquiry as to how Tauqeer Sadiq was able to escape from Pakistan was carried out by one of the senior most DGs of the NAB.
During the interrogation, Tauqeer Sadiq provided details of his escape including the fact that he paid Rs 1,000 as bribe to an Afghan official at the Kabul airport, not Torkham, as reported in the media.
However, Sadiq didn’t name any individual for having assisted him in his escape and speculations in the media naming individuals or assigning a particular status to them were manifestly incorrect, said the NAB spokesman.
When individuals responsible for helping him (Sadiq) escape would be identified, all of them would be dealt with in accordance with law, the spokesman pledged.
