While predominantly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country, rain and thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are expected in the isolated parts of the Northern Areas, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) and Gilgit Baltistan.
The Met Office reported on Thursday that a seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan, a shallow low lies over south Punjab and adjoining areas and a westerly trough is prevalent over the northern areas of the country.
During the next 24 hours, hot and humid weather has been predicted for most parts of Punjab and Sindh and Balochistan. However isolated rain with gusty winds is expected in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan and rain dust-thunderstorm is likely in the isolated parts of Mirpurkhas and northeast Balochistan.
Predictions for KP, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan indicate rain and thundershowers associated with gusty winds in isolated parts of both the province and the regions.
On Wednesday the highest recorded temperatures (in degrees Celsius) were as follows: Sibbi 43, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad and Sukkur 42, Islamabad 32, Lahore 33, Karachi 34, Peshawar 35, Quetta 35, Murree 23, Muzaffarabad 34 and Gilgit 34.
Rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours (in millimeters) was: Malam Jabba 67, Balakot 28, Saidu Sharif 21, Parachinar 19, Gujrat 15, Rawalakot 09, Kakul, Muzaffarabad 03, Hunza, Gupis 02, Dir, Sibbi and Mangla, 01.
