On the direction of District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Naseem Sadiq, price control magistrates remained active on the first day of Ramadan and conducted mass raids on shops throughout the city to check the quality and rates of edible items.
The price control magistrates arrested three shopkeepers who were overcharging for their goods, and recovered fines amounting to Rs 130,100. Sadiq stated that price control magistrates should remain in the markets and if any shopkeeper tries to loot citizens and are overcharging, strict action should be taken against him.
