IB chief launches formal probe into Abbottabad report leak

Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director General Aftab Sultan has launched a formal investigation into the leakage of the Abbottabad Commission report and he will soon be meeting the head of the commission, Justice (r) Javed Iqbal.

After meeting Justice Iqbal, meetings will also be held with other members of the Abbottabad Commission including Abbas Khan, Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, Lt Gen (r) Nadeem Ahmed and Nargis Sethi.

According to sources, the investigation would be moved forward in the light of these meetings.

The sources said the defence secretary would also be contacted if need be and information would be sought from him on the issue. They added the staff members working with the Abbottabad Commission would also be questioned.

  1. Wastage of time and resources once again. People in Pakistan and the world at large know much more about Abbottabad Commission report, even the truth which has not been touched upon.

  2. They tremendously failed to detect OBL for 10 long years and the intruding SEALS right in the heart of country. And they will waste their time in useless practice. They may be able, perhaps, to earn extra thousands as compensation in form of TA / DA.

  3. Spend your time an energy on something positive. The people in Pakistan have been pushed aside over and again. As tax-payers, It is their right to know where the fault lies.
