The district administration has imposed a ban on running various trucks, oil tankers and water tankers on the main city roads from 4pm until Iftar.
The ban extends to Mazda trucks, oil tankers, water tankers and other trucks of the Lahore Waste Management Company, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and more. District Government Lahore has taken this action to facilitate citizens using the roads so that they can reach their homes in time for Iftar without facing traffic jams.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Naseem Sadiq placed the ban on trucks after consultation with representatives of Mazda and the Oil Tankers Association in a meeting which was held at the DCO office on Thursday. Sadiq further stated that strict action would be taken if any truck driver broke the ban.
