A special audit of the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Machinery Pool Audit (MPO) Department has been ordered following alleged irregularities.
The aim of the audit will be to identity the misappropriations and identify the individuals involved in the alleged financial mismanagement regarding the procurement of fuel by the department.
Sources said Electrical and Department Mechanical Director General Shahid Sohail conducted a routine enquiry into the purchase of petrol in 2011 which uncovered embezzlement in fuel procurement.
The CDA chairman ordered a special audit of the fuel purchases in the light of the preliminary enquiry.
The proposed audit team comprises of CDA Audit Deputy Director Khalida Parveen, Audit Officer Sultan Ahmad, Audit Officer Arshid Hussain and Assistant Audit Officer Abdul Hakim.
The audit team will inspect the concerned accounts from June 2008 to March 2013 period and present its findings to the CDA chairman.
