At least 2 killed, 5 injured in Kohat blast

At least two people were killed and another five were injured when a high intensity bomb exploded outside a mosque in Katcha Pakka area of Kohat on Thursday.

Kohat District Police Officer Dilawar Bangash told Pakistan Today that it was an improvised explosive devise (IED) planted in a motorcycle.

Witnesses said the explosion occurred when people were offering Zuhr prayers.

Though the DPO confirmed two people were killed, the locals said another had succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Condition of several others are said to be in danger.

Soon after the explosion, the Kohat police embarked upon a search operation and detained a number of suspects.

Katcha Pakka area is adjacent to Hangu, where violent and terrorist attacks are frequent.
