Sindh cabinet expanded, portfolios allotted

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has increased the size of the Sindh cabinet by including nine new ministers.

Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad administered oath to the new ministers at the Governor’s House on Wednesday. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah was also present.

According to details, the PPP had invited the MQM one month ago to join the Sindh cabinet but the MQM did not reply. The PPP leadership decided to expand in the cabinet after disappointed by the attitude of the MQM.

Syed Awais Muzzaffar Tapi, President Asif Ali Zardari’s close aide, will hold the portfolio of the Local Bodies and Housing, Town Planning and Rural Development with additional charge of Public Health Engineering.

Jam Mehtab Daher will hold the portfolio of the Food Ministry, Ali Mardan Shah Population Welfare with an additional charge of Trade and Commerce, Mukesh Kamar Chawala will own the portfolio of Excise and Taxation along the with an additional charge of Forest and Wildlife, Ghayan Chund will hold portfolio of Minority Affairs, Dost Ali Rahmoon will carry the portfolio of Zakat and Ushar, Javeed Nagpori will own the Kachi Abdai (Slungs) Ministry, Jam Khan Shoro will hold the portfolio of Livestock and Fisheries.

Elected on special women’s seat Robina Saddat Qaimkhani will hold the portfolio of Special Education, Women Development and Social Welfare.

According to the notification, the chief minister appointed two new advisers.
