PILDAT holds discussion on US rebalancing

PILDAT organised a discussion forum on the US Rebalance to Asia: Whither Pakistan on Tuesday in Islamabad.
Ziad Haider, a Washington-based attorney on national security matters, was the keynote speaker at the forum.
Former ambassador Ashraf Jahangir Qazi and TV anchor Dr Moeed Pirzada were the lead discussants in the forum while experts on foreign policy issues, academia, former ambassadors and members of PILDAT dialogue group on civil-military relations were also present.
Prominent people who participated in the forum included former foreign affairs secretary Riaz Khokhar, former secretary defence Lt Gen (r) Talat Masood, former KP governor Lt Gen (r) Arif Bangash, former ISPR DG Maj Gen (R) Athar Abbas, former federal secretary Tasneem Noorani, Institute of Strategic Studies Chairman Gul Haneef, CISS Executive Director Ali Sarwar Naqvi, former ambassador Ayaz Wazir, former ambassador Asif Ezdi, Quaid-e-Azam University School of Politics and IR Director Dr Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, International Islamic University Vice President Academics Dr Mumtaz Ahmed, Iqra University Dean Dr Muhammad Islam, Islamabad Policy Institute Acting President Dr Noorul Haq, NDU Head of IR Department Dr Muhammad Khan, Riphah Institute of Public Policy Director Dr Rashid Aftab and Professor Dr Amna Mahmood. PILDAT President Ahmed Bilal Mehboob moderated the forum.
