One suspect was killed and another two were arrested in a targeted operation launched in Dasht area of Mastung district on Wednesday.
Official sources said the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) along with other law enforcement agencies, carried out a targeted operation in Dasht following a tip-off, in which an exchange of fire took place between the law enforcement personnel and the armed men that left one suspect dead while two were arrested.
The sources said the dead and the arrested suspects belonged to a banned outfit that was stated to be involved in targeted killings of policemen, Shia pilgrims, and Levies officials in the area.
The security officials also recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition and took the criminals to an unidentified location for interrogation.
