The Punjab Government has decided not to appoint teachers of arts subject against new vacancies in various districts of the province.
Details said that 29,000 teachers will be appointed next year to teach both art and science subjects. The government has planned to retire all male and female art teachers forcefully, serving since 25 years, while new appointments will be on contractual basis.
Talking to media representatives, Teachers Union Association said that 25,000 posts are lying vacant since the last 5 years and no single appointment has been made.
The teachers protested against the decision and demanded the government to protect the future of the teachers.
