CDA finalises Ramadan arrangements

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday finalised arrangements to facilitate citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

Chairman CDA Nadeem Hassan Asif chaired a high level meeting at CDA Headquarters which was attended by the Chief Commissioner, representatives of police and all CDA Board members.

The chairman directed the officials to ensure availability of edible items especially dates, gram flour (Basin) in bulk and on subsidised rates to the general public throughout the upcoming month. He directed the engineering department for continuous supply of water adding that complaints for shortage of water to be entertained on immediate basis.

The chairman was informed that a complaint centre to facilitate water-related complaints had already been established which would work round the clock. Residents could lodge complaints to the centre at the following number: 051-99202218.

He directed Member Administration to coordinate with District Administration to identify specific locations for the establishment of ‘Sasta Bazaars’ and to control prices of items at fair-price shops.

To ensure quality and stability of prices, an assistant commissioner along with CDA team would visit daily for inspection. He said that food packets would be distributed among the attendants of poor patients at hospitals including commuters stuck in traffic jams at ‘iftar’ time. Banners inscribed with slogans ‘CDA at Service’ would also be displayed for the awareness of the public.

He also instructed Member Administration to arrange sports competitions under flood lights including cricket, football and other sports.

The chairman also ordered recreational activities and ‘Eid Mela’ on the eve of Eid ul Fitr for the residents of the federal capital.
