Monsoon rain spell to continue until Thursday

The present spell of monsoon rains has decreased the temperatures across the country and would continue in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan until Thursday with occasional gaps.
The synoptic situation says that seasonal low was lying over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas.
Monsoonal currents from Arabian Sea are continuously reaching into the upper and eastern parts of the country. A western disturbance was also affecting northern parts of the country.
According to an official of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain-thundershower associated with gusty winds is expected in Islamabad, upper Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sargodha, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar, Malakand, Hazara and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
Rain-thundershower, associated with gusty winds, is also likely at isolated places of Faisalabad, Bannu and DI Khan division during the next 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall is expected at few places of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast Punjab and Kashmir.
The official said it is expected that the rain would occur during the day times during the next few days.
The weather would remain hot and humid in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan during the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Islamabad 32 degrees Celsius, Rawalpindi 32 C, Lahore 31 C, Peshawar 37 C, Murree 24 C, Quetta 37 C, Muzaffarabad 35 C, Multan 39 C, DI Khan 37 C and Karachi 33 degrees Celsius.
