The Supreme Court on Monday sought lists of detention centres and the detained missing persons across the country within 24 hours.
A three-member bench, headed by Justice Jawwad S Khwaja, resumed the hearing on Monday.
The court also sought a detailed report of the recorded statements of Dr Imran Munir and others regarding the recovery of Amina Massod Janjua’s husband, Masood Janjua.
Justice Khwaja said time had come when everyone had to get united under one umbrella for the implementation of the law and constitution. He said the agony and pain of the missing persons was unbearable and if they were not recovered, the heads of all detention centres would be summoned.
On the issue of Masood Janjua’s detention, Justice Khwaja remarked “when intelligence agency’s person is being found involved in such activities, what is the job of police, government and other security agencies to take action against that person”.
The court also ordered Rawalpindi CPO Rao Iqbal Imran Munir to speed up the investigation into the case of Masood Janjua and submit a report today (Tuesday).
“We want to recover missing persons at any cost,” Justice Khwaja remarked.
“What kind of policy or legislation is being formulated to take action against enforced disappearance?” he asked the attorney general.
The court sought report from Deputy Attorney General Ali Zai about 84 cases of detainees at various detention centres in the country.
In his remarks, Justice Arif Hussain Khilji expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation into the missing persons’ cases. He said delaying tactics were being used to delay the issue.
Many of the teachers by putting pressure on their students in order to get them study well make the personality of their students as a confused one. We don’t need to criticize students for all the time for their doings as it cause them to lose their confidence.
