The Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl have failed to reach a consensus on seat adjustment for by-elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Earlier, both the parties had made a formula on seat adjustment for the by-polls. Under this formula, the relinquished seat would be given to the party who had won it in the general elections.
However, deadlock emerged between the two parties over PK-27, evacuated after independent MPA Imran Mohmand was killed in bomb attack.
His brother Jamshed Mohmand is contesting on this seat and the ANP has decided to support him, however, JUI-F wanted to bring its candidate.
ANP leader Ghulam Ahmed Bilour has sought time for the party’s final decision over the seat.
