State of the art mobile jammers will be installed in Adiala Jail to check illegal use of cellular phones among the prisoners.
Mobile phone is being used in the central jail in collaboration with the administration.
Inmates failing to adhere to the unjust demands of the administration are subjected to severe torture if found using a mobile phone. Cases have been registered in Sadar Baironi Police Station against administration personnel for violence on inmates but no action has so far been taken.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken serious notice and directed the concerned authorities to impose ban on illegal use of mobile phones in all jails across the province.
Proceedings against the jail superintendent will be initiated if any mobile is found in the inmate’s possession.
