Hearing of Mumbai attack case has been adjourned till July 20 owing to non appearance of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar in the court due to security concerns.
Judge Kausar Abbas Zaidi of Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad took up the case for hearing on Saturday.
The ATC had issued summons in respect to four witnesses in connection with cross examination. However the honourable court’s summonses were not complied with and no witness appeared in the court to record his evidence.
The court had to issue the summons again and directed the witnesses to appear before it to record their evidence.
Meanwhile, Azhar did not appear in the court due to non provision of security to him.
Moreover, the investigation officer Muhammad Tariq had been changed and Muhammad Ghaffar had been appointed in his place.
Riaz Akram Cheema, counsel for the accused persons, said that non provision of security to the prosecutor could cause further delay in the trial process.
