CEO Harvest Tradings Ahmad Jawad said on Friday a cogent export policy must play a major role to strengthen country economy, its time one should cover the import and export gap which was more than $ 10 billion and govt may introduce export friendly policies. He said we must realize Pakistan is losing its ground and competitiveness against regional countries, i.e. China, India, Bangladesh, and Sri-Lanka and its due to energy crisis, impact of law & order situation our cost of doing business is highest in the region. Export sector, must be facilitated to earn foreign exchange for the country and it should not be used for revenue collection as was done all over the world. For Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), it is easy to collect revenue from export sector in shape of withholding tax but it could also be done without any increase in this head.
