Railways Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique on Friday decided that the railway fares or ticket charges would not be increased despite the recent increase in petroleum prices.

The minister said that the decision had been taken for benefitting the country’s poor who preferred to travel via railways.

He also removed Project Director Muhammad Yousaf handling the repair of 150 locomotives on account of his poor performance, replacing him with Captain Abdul Majeed.

  1. Seems to b a gud dcision but its only for trains running b/w Lhr n Rawalpindi..
Why not to other routes? specially from Pindi/Peshawer to Karachi/Quetta ??
Loss of railway will be reduced by ruuning more trains, not by reducing fares
