Lyari residents protest, set 2 vehicles ablaze

The residents of Lyari protested against the continuous violence and targeted killings in the area and set two trailers on fire on Thursday.

According to local media, agitated protesters set two trailers ablaze in Lyari where they are currently demonstrating against unrest and targeted killings.

The protesters blocked the roads which disrupted the traffic flow and also pelted stones on cars and other vehicles.

Some of the protestors, it was reported, also ransacked the vehicles in the presence of police during the violent protest.

It may be mentioned here that intermittent firing continued for the 15 consecutive days in different areas of Lyari while hand grenades were also hurled in the air.

The residents of Lyari are facing extreme difficulties as they have been restricted indoors due to consistent firing in many areas including Kalri, Hangurabad, Agra Taj Colony, Bihar Colony, Jumma Baloch Road and other adjoining areas for the past four days.

Hand grenade attacks were also reported in some areas.
