Scotland Yard finds significant evidence against Altaf Hussain

The London Metropolitan Police has interrogated two leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and has recovered important archives as well as high-valued diamonds and jewellery from two bank lockers, a private television channel reported on Monday.

According to sources, police had tracked the details of the lockers while conducting a search operation in the houses of Altaf Hussain and a relative of his.

The sources said the London police had compiled a report based on solid evidence against the MQM chief and sent it to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The Crown Prosecution Service is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases investigated by the police in England and Wales.

The sources added that the MQM chief would be part of the interrogative process after the government lawyers’ response.

Two former leaders of the political party provided firm proof to the London police which helped the officials in their investigation.

Police officials also claimed that £1 million or more were also recovered during the raid.

The London Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Services will present a progress report on the Imran Farooq murder case before British Home Secretary Theresa May today (Tuesday).

The Crown Prosecution Services will hold a special session with the top police officials before meeting the home secretary.

Earlier, the MQM chief voluntarily stepped down from his post on June 30 after the raid conducted by the London police on his residence but retracted his resignation within six hours.

  4. If he is innocent then there is nothing to worry about, It's the British police not Pakistani which can be bought.
    Anyway MQM always requests the British police to investigate incidents, but I guess it doesn't suit them in this incident.
    If he lives in this country then like anyone else he is not above the law and if there is something to answer for then he will have to answer bearing in mind Innocent untill proven Guilty.

    A party whose supremo has been boasting as a leader of poor and middle classes have to do a lot of explanation before Scotland Yard how could they own about 20 properties and also they have to explain where did South African diamonds were discovered from the locker?

    The above breakthrough has become possible due to cooperation from two leaders of the MQM.

I know nothing of this case & v little about the mqm but the notion that uk cops are incorruptable or not beholden to politicians would, i’m sure, strike most brits as laughable. Check out the huge web of lies and smearing of the dead following the deaths at Hillsborough due to cop incompetance and the 3 cover ups afterwards. In total nearly 7000 cops knew that official enquiries had been purposefully misled but did nothing. It took nearly 30 years for the truth to come out. No cop is facins prosecution, several senior cops have taken early retirement on full pension. Similarly the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence which corrupt cops deliberately poorly investigated as they were in business with the drug dealing father of one of the murderers. Not only are no cops again facing prosecution but it emerged that undercover cops infiltrated the campaign for justice with the ago of smearing the family. Then there’s the whole phone-hacking deal, at least some of the minor cops selling info to the press are being prosecuted but none of senior cops who mishandled the various investigations and lied about having done so are facing court. At the very base of the phone-hacking story is the murder of daniel morgan who was going to expose cop corruption, 5 separate investigations over more than 25 years have been deliberately sabotaged from within.
