Citizens from all walks of life on Monday thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers, saying that he had fulfilled his promise of reducing load shedding within a month of assuming office.
“The prime minister has done an excellent job for which he deserves full credit,” they added.
The citizens conveyed that load shedding of up to 20 hours daily had become a great nuisance, impeding their routine life.
“We know that load shedding is a chronic issue which cannot be overcome overnight, but the commitment shown by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to reduce load shedding to its minimum has won the hearts of Lahorites.”
Citizen Protection Committee Convener Zulfiqar Hussain hailed smooth electricity supply during the past 72 hours. He said that the prime minister enjoyed energy experts’ backing and so he will be able to further reduce load shedding.
“Smooth electricity supply is no less than a gift by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government,” said Pakistan Workers Confederation (PWC) Secretary General Khurshid Ahmed. He hoped that load shedding duration would further be curtailed in the weeks to come.
Former Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Vice President Abdul Basit said that uninterrupted energy supply would help revitalise the industrial sector. He said that heavy load shedding had crippled the industry and retarded business activities.
Many traders expressed the hope that the situation would improve with the new government’s inception.
Really PML N is trying its level vest to reduce the rubbish burden electricity load shedding and with the hope to solve this problem earlier and quickly. There is an open and live example of U.A.E where no load shedding and Dubai electricity Department is performing nicely and smoothly functioning. Pakistan must get assistance from U.A.E to tackle the electricity and water problems. Inn Shah Allah Pakistan will be very sufficient in electricity and water. The huge surplus of useless numbers of staff must be reduced. The electricity concession to its staffs must be withdrawn immediately. The surplus expenditures of Power and Electricity Ministry must also be handled.
Blind man
