Traders vow to keep their profits low in Ramazan

A delegation of the office bearers of Banaspati Ghee Manufacturers Association, sugar traders, Punjab Poultry Association and representatives of Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan met the Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan at the Civil Secretariat on Friday and assured him full cooperation in curbing the elements involved in profiteering and hoarding in the holy month of Ramazan.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, who is the chairman of the Cabinet Committee for Implementation of Ramazan Package in Punjab, stressed upon the traders and manufacturers of the daily use items that they should play their active role in facilitating the fasting Muslims.
The minister disclosed that an agreement between Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan and the Punjab government had been finalised according to which the government would ensure ample supply of food, vegetables, fruit and other items of daily use in the open market on subsidised rates.
Later, the minister attended a luncheon in honour of toppers from all over the country as chief guest at GOR’s Mess. The position holders from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK and the federal area were proceeding to a two month study tour to the world applauded universities of Germany, Sweden and Great Britain.
Col (r) Muhammad Haamid delivered a lecture about etiquettes of western civilisation to the position holders.
