The Pakistan Metrological Department on Saturday announced that Ramazan moon sighting is unlikely on the eve of July 9. However, it may be sighted on July 10.
As per the astronomical calculation, new moon can be sighted when its age is above 31 hours.
During Ramazan, more than a billion Muslims fast from dawn to dusk in nearly every corner of the globe. It is the 9th lunar month and, as mentioned in the holy Quran, it is compulsory for every capable Muslim not to consume any food or drink between 13 to 18 hours a day for an entire month.
