Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Khan Baig has been posted as IGP and a notification has been issued on Friday.
A spokesman for the IGP said Baig had been working as the acting inspector general of police since May 25. He was born in 1954 and belonged to Attock. He joined the Punjab Police as ASP in 1980 and was promoted to SP in 1987, later he was posted as additional inspector general of police in grade 21.
Baig had worked as SP, SSP, AIG, DIG and RPO in Karachi, Quetta, Sargodha and various cities of the Punjab while he also served as DIG Headquarters, RPO Sargodha and additional inspector general Special Branch Punjab.
