Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan said on Saturday said that corruption was rampant from a patwar khana (land revenue office) to the President House.
Addressing a ceremony, the PHC chief justice said an institution must be established which should bring all the people, including the president and the prime minister, under the ambit of the law.
He lamented over the fact that no effective system for the elimination of corruption under the Constitution could be formed so far. He said such a constitutional body should be established in the country which could bring everyone, including the president and the prime minister, under accountability.
Moreover, Justice Dost Muhammad said consumer and mobile courts would be established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the provincial assembly must pass the act from the house on immediate basis as there was an urgent need for more courts.
The chief justice said the country was bestowed with all natural resources but the rulers were “wandering here and there” with a begging bowl in their hands. He said the rulers needed to reform themselves.
